Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out decoration works, general repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure the highest quality standards and customer satisfaction. This role involves working across various property types and locations, contributing to our ongoing efforts in damp and mould treatment, assisted decorating programmes, small repairs, and planned works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform decorating and finishing works.
  • Damp and Mould treatment.
  • Some basic carpentry, plumbing, tiling, and floor laying.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and risk assessments at all times.
  • Maintain professionalism and represent mhs homes in a courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with management to meet key performance indicators, particularly regarding customer care and satisfaction.
  • Ensure a “right first time” approach.
  • Maintain your company vehicle and manage van stock responsibly.
  • Participate in the emergency call-out rota or provide cover as needed.
  • Maximize productivity and cost-effectiveness through efficient use of time and materials.
  • Utilise mobile technology for receiving and completing repair requests.

You’ll need to have:

  • Trade NVQ level 3 qualifications
  • Strong experience in Decorating.
  • Experience in the other aforementioned trades
  • ICT skills
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Ability to work safely at heights and lift weights to industry standards.
  • Valid driver’s licence

Basic-level Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance is required for this role.
