The Thames Gateway South Essex Housing Conference – Monday, 21 November 2016, 9.30 – 3.30 pm

This year the focus of the conference will be on “how to build more homes, faster and deliver healthy communities”; in the morning session you will hear from the Housing Finance Institute, HCA and Essex County Council on house building and infrastructure. This will be followed by a session on Older Person’s  Housing and how the County and Local Authorities are addressing the needs of an aging population with a local case study focusing on the award winning scheme at Bruyns Court, Derry Avenue, Thurrock. After lunch you will have the choice of attending one of four workshops covering the Housing Business Ready Programme, Housing and Health, Construction Skills or Housing Needs of Older People. This will be followed by a session on homelessness and how local authorities are addressing the issue in South Essex. 

Key speakers confirmed to date include: Natalie Elphicke, OBE – Housing Finance Institute, Chris More – Homes and Communities Agency, Jeremy Porteus – Housing LIN, Tim Bell – Bell Phillips Architects. The conference will conclude with a key note speech from Mark Henderson CE of Home Group and National Housing Federation Board Member.
