Tenancy Support Officer

Employer: West Kent Housing Association
Close date: Wednesday 17/08/2022

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable people?

We are looking for a Tenancy Support Officer who will be able to work within Harmsworth Court in Cranbrook and provide cover at our other schemes across Kent. You will be responsible for providing housing related services, signposting, and liaising with residents and their families. You will be supporting them to maintain the safety and security of their home in one of our sheltered schemes.

Knowledge of the welfare benefits system would be an advantage; however support will be provided in this area if required. You will understand the needs of older people and safeguarding. You’ll also have a good knowledge of how key statutory agencies work, as our residents may need to be referred for their services.

You will possess passion and empathy and be able to build a rapport with people, and be proactive, networking with other service providers to deliver activities and positive outcomes for residents in the scheme.

It’s important that you’re able to remain calm, particularly in stressful situations and have great communication skills. You need to be a highly organised person, with an ability to work alone and as part of a team.

You will need good IT skills, and experience of case management software would be desirable.

You may also be required to assist with other areas of support within our Emerald Service.

You will need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

In return we offer a generous staff benefits scheme, including discounted medical treatments, paid time off to volunteer, and an annual grant to support your wellbeing.

This is a fixed term position (3 months) and we will only consider applications submitted with a full CV and completed supporting statement. There is information on our website about our recruitment process.
