We’re looking for an exceptionally organised person to manage our aids and adaptations service.
Working closely with our local authority partners, including occupational therapy departments, and also our contractors, you will have working knowledge of disabled facilities grants, the processes involved and what can and can’t be funded. You will manage the service proactively, networking with colleagues from within and outside the organisation to identify those most in need of support and work in partnership to improve their homes to the highest standard. You will therefore have an understanding of building design and constraints.
We need a forward-looking manager who will lead on understanding best practice and how we can ensure our existing and new homes, particularly for older people, continue to meet this standard. You will also look at industry and technological improvements in order to see how these can be accessed for our tenants.
You will need to have good IT skills as you will be expected to manage a database of works, monitor a budget and ensure that there are up to date records that can be easily accessed and reported on. This will be in addition to managing your own caseload, demonstrating empathy and compassion in supporting our residents to apply for a grant and then through the process.
You will be responsible for other team members. We need someone that is not only a good manager but who has experience of coaching and developing their staff.
A Trusted Assessor qualification would be an advantage.
