Kent Resource Partnership invites you to join a workshop ’ Simple Recycling – waste facilities that work for everyone’

Where Repton Connect Community Centre – Repton Avenue, Ashford, Kent, TN23 3RX  https://reptonct.uk/
Why Simpler recycling legislation is being introduced on 31st March 2026 affecting all household waste collections – this requires the provision of separate packaging recycling and food waste collections for all homes. Find out what this means for homes with communal waste facilities.

Kent Resource Partnership are keen to work with you and residents to:

  • Collect more good quality recycling
  • Reduce contamination of recycling
  • Achieve fewer ‘rejected’ recycling bins
  • Help reduce resident complaints

We know that communal waste facilities work better when everyone is involved in designing the solutions

Who should attend Anyone responsible for the provision and management of communal waste facilities for flats, including:

Representatives from local authority housing teams(managing social housing), housing associations, and private landlords/managing agents

TO SIGN UP PLEASE EMAIL KRP@kent.gov.uk providing your name, job title, organisation and any dietary or access requirements

Note: LA waste managers/officers have already participated in a similar workshop during 2025

What we want to achieve (1) to inspire action to improve communal waste facilities in line with Simpler Recycling legislation requirements and Local Authority waste collection service offers

(2) to explore how we can work most effectively together to deliver efficient and effective services and improve resident engagement and satisfaction.

(3) Build relationships and understand the constraints, issues and opportunities for future improvement action

What to expect This will be an interactive workshop delivered on behalf of Kent Resource Partnership by facilitators from ReLondon (who have developed expertise and best practice over many years by supporting all London Boroughs)

Comprised of a series of presentations, best practice examples and group exercises with networking opportunities.

We are keen to hear from all participants, by everyone sharing their local insights, knowledge and experience will help us formulate joint improvement opportunities and action plans.
