Welcome to Kent Housing Group’s newsletter! We intend to publish one every 2 months to give our members an update on what’s on and key topics that effect our readership.
Our Excellence Awards have been launched, celebrating the very best projects, professionals and partnerships across housing in in the county.
With 12 categories, there are ample opportunities to showcase the work you do, to shine a light on the places you have created, the projects that make a real difference and the people without whom it would not happen. New categories celebrate innovation, asset management, work in the private sector, as well as focusing on the best of new development and regeneration.

The winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on 12 October. KHG is thankful for sponsorship from Kent Housing and Development Group, DHA Planning, Optivo, Paramount Independent Property Services and Golding Homes.

Upcoming Events
20 June 2022 – Domestic Abuse Awareness
We are pleased to announce a partnership event on domestic abuse awareness. The event is being led by KCC and is a real opportunity to learn and explore the changes in the Domestic Abuse Act, the links between housing and domestic abuse and what support is available and how this can be accessed.
KCC will also share information on their perpetrator pilot. The session is free to all KHG members.

5 July 2022 – Rural Housing Event
We are please to announce a virtual Rural Housing Event, organised by Action with Communities in Rural Kent in partnership with Kent Community Housing Hub, English Rural Housing Association and Kent Housing Group. This is a lunch time learning event that will cover:
- A focus on Kent rural housing schemes
- Local needs housing and identifying need
- Community lead housing
- The updated Guide to Rural Housing
- Kent Housing Group and its work with partners
The event is aimed at parish councils, landowners and colleagues in housing and planning are welcome to attend.
