Two important consultations on tenant involvement

National Engagement Survey – Firstly, Tpas have launched the first ever National Engagement survey. They want to find out, with your help, the national profile of organisations and individuals who are making a significant contribution to tenant and community engagement across the country. The survey is being conducted independently for Tpas by PML Group and can be totally anonymous if you wish. And as a thank you for taking the time to complete the survey all completed surveys will be entered into a draw to receive £100 of Love2Shop gift Vouchers. This first survey marks the start of an exciting journey where year on year Tpas  will map the changing face of tenant and community engagement. There are no right or wrong answers – just your view on what is happening in your organisation. The survey will close on 24th February.   This short survey is available here – https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GXRJFH9

Homes and Communities Agency (HCA): Tenant Involvement and Empowerment Standard Consultation – The Government Regulator – the HCA – have launched a new consultation on proposed changes to the Tenant Involvement and Empowerment Standard. These changes are proposed in response to changes in the Housing and Planning Act 2016 which mean that landlords no longer have to ask for the HCA’s consent when they make significant changes regarding tenants’ homes – including if they change the landlord. The proposed changes clarify and strengthen the regulators requirements around consultation with tenants when providers are proposing to change their landlord or when proposing a significant change in their management to arrangements. The consultation runs from today for a period of 6 weeks and will close at 5pm on 22 March 2017. Full details of the consultation can be found on the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/amendment-to-the-tenant-involvement-and-empowerment-standard
