This is an important Kent Housing Group led workshop looking at how we can collectively unlock the potential of housing that will support a Homes First approach for people with mental health to support their recovery and sustained well-being.

Many of colleagues will have been involved in earlier work shops looking at the reshaping and future commissioning of mental health support services. At those a number of housing related issues and concerns were frequently raised, so KHG have decided to lead an afternoon of collaboration to see which ones are possibly solvable so that Kent Housing Group can work on finding the solutions. We recognise that some may take a long time and some may seem impossible but we believe that with time and a shared will, many longstanding issues can be tackled. To do that we need your help.   So bring your creativity and enthusiasm to bear on how we can develop a Homes First approach for people with mental health issues.

The afternoon session is to be held from 1pm on Monday 27 February in the Darenth Room, Sessions House, Maidstone, ending promptly at 4:15 pm.  During this time there will be group working sessions looking at:

  • Creating appropriate move on housing, increasingly supply – social and private (including overcoming potentially benefits issues)
  • Housing Allocation , Local Connections
  • Funding of Communal Spaces community Hubs Financial Models
  • Supported Schemes, Mixed Economy of Provision Dispersed model and nomination agreements
