Kent Homechoice

Kent Homechoice is the choice based lettings scheme for all council and housing association homes in Kent.

Kent Homechoice gives people more choice about where they would like to live and they can express an interest in vacant homes that are suitable for their needs.

All 13 Local Authorities in Kent are now using the Kent Homechoice system and are working in partnership with 22 Housing Associations to assist in creating long term sustainable communities.

The Kent Homechoice website offers plenty more information about the scheme.

The Kent Joint Policy and Planning Board (Housing)

The Kent Joint Policy and Planning Board for Housing (JPPB) is a strategic partnership between Health, Housing and Social Care. The Board incorporates representation from the East and West Kent Local Housing Authorities, Supporting People, East Kent Primary Care Trust, East and West Kent Social Services, Kent Children Families and Education, Kent Drug and Alcohol Action Team, Kent Probation, Youth Offending Services and Catch 22.

The JPPB provides the forum where strategic issues requiring joint working between Health, Housing and Social Care can be raised and measures to addressed them developed.

A Local Authority Head of Housing chairs the Board and the current chair is Bob Porter, Housing Services Manager at Shepway District Council; the Vice Chair is John Littlemore, Chief Housing Officer at Maidstone Borough Council.
