: The Kent Housing Group (KHG) is a forum for social housing organisations in Kent. KHG has representation from all twelve Kent local authorities, Medway Council, over sixteen housing associaitons and Kent County County. KHG also has affiliated representation from the Homes and Communities Agency and when required other partner agencies.
What is the KHG Vision? KHG prides itself on acting as the 'Voice of Housing in Kent' to represent the collective voice of Kent's housing bodies providing advice and a 'Kent perspective' to regional and national bodies for the benefit of Kent's residents.
What are the aims of KHG: Primarily KHG encourages discussion around best practice in housing amongst Chief Housing Officers of Local Authorities and Chief Executives of Housing Associations working in Kent. We also aim to:
• Provide strategic leadership - shaping and setting the housing agenda;
• To build relationships and influence decisions for the benefit of Kent;
• To draw in resources from both traditional and alternative sources.
•To work together to improve the supply and quality of affordable homes.
• To create sustainable communities in Kent.
Who leads the Kent Housing Group? KHG has a Chair and Vice Chair, these two positions are held and rotated by a local authority Head of Housing and a Senior Housing representative from a Housing Association, the posts are held for period of two years. The KHG is also supported by two Partnership Managers, who work with the Chair and KHG members to ensure that objectives are set and achieved.
KHG Events: Kent Housing Group also host a number of member events throughout the year, these are to bring members and other partners up to date with national or local agendas that will impact upon the housing and housing related services provided in Kent. These events include an annaul KHG Housing Seminar, which is held in the Autumn.
